The Phlebotomy Technician Program at KTB is a comprehensive course comprising 165 clock hours, which equates to 5.5 semester credits. The program is meticulously designed to equip students with the fundamental skills necessary for entry-level phlebotomist roles in diverse healthcare environments, including medical offices and laboratories.
The curriculum offers a blend of online and on-campus instruction, laying a solid groundwork in phlebotomy procedures and patient interaction.
Program Competencies:
Upon completion, graduates will be proficient in identifying and utilizing phlebotomy instruments, executing phlebotomy techniques with a focus on patient safety, and understanding the human anatomy, particularly the circulatory system, in relation to venipuncture.
Course Outline:
PH-601: Introduction to Phlebotomy, Law, and Ethics - 15 hours
PH-602: Anatomy & Physiology- 15 hours
PH-603: Phlebotomy Equipment - 15 hours
PH-604: Safety in Phlebotomy, HIV/AIDS - 15 hours
PH-605: Phlebotomy Techniques - 60 hours
PH-606: Specimen Handling & Special Procedures - 45 hours
Admission Requirements:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and provide valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, including Basic Life Support for healthcare providers, or acquire it within 30 calendar days.
Graduation Requirements:
To graduate, students must complete all courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 70%, earning a Phlebotomy Technician Certificate from KTB.

$169 (not included) NHA testing
